  chain-smoking ashes nicotine smoke seeping, grinding, becoming the seats, floor, steering wheel, cieling,
  clothes, hair.
  
  voices hoarse with screams and cut by city nightlife needles proclaim the directions to suit our fancy leftleftrightleftrightu-turnleftleftrightleftrightrightleft
  
  driving for the hell of it just don't let it -
  
  stop - at the crossroads - slumber speed want on
  
  we have books leatherbound and yellowed with drive-thru coffee stains reading aloud The Greatest Minds of Our Generation and dreaming about buses painted with acid
  
  when our thoughts get too coherent on to Boston! on to Baltimore! on to Houston! on to Rockland! just give us some more.
  
  want! hunger! need! sex! blood! pain! dreams! epitomes! time!
